Since President Gallot’s appointment in 2016, GSU Alumni and long-term supporter James Bradford have organized a dedicated group of supporters and givers to help grow Grambling State. For the third year, this group of more than 100 GSU community members supported the third annual New Era of Excellence Reception Saturday, March 16, 2018, raising more than $65,000 to bring their three-year total to $329,000.

The reception is the response of alumni who have been inspired to give by President Gallot’s University vision.

“Our partners and supporters are critical to the success of Grambling State,” said President Gallot. “They continue to create new ways to grow our institution while demonstrating a strong commitment to helping our students through giving.”

According to Mr. Bradford, “We do this, because we know that we must. If we don’t support Grambling, who will?”

Hosted by a team of students, alumni, and University staff, the event drew donations and support from community businesses in North Louisiana as well as nationally acclaimed ones.

“There is no group on earth like Grambling’s alumni,” said Marc Newman, Vice President of Advancement, Research, and Economic Development. “They offer the continuous support that helps make big innovation like our scholarships and new digital library possible.”
