Co-Curricular Assessment

Co-Curricular Assessment commonly refers to Student Affairs, however can include many units beyond the Student Affairs umbrella.  This area of assessment focuses on in the improvement of student learning through programmatic offerings, student engagement, and data-driven decision making.

Assessment Plans

All co-curricular programs will submit a Co-Curricular Assessment Plan in which they will cover the assessment activities, outcomes/objectives, cycles, methods, and measures.  The plan is intended to guide the assessment process for five years.

Here is the Co-Curricular Assessment Plan Template.  This file is intended to assist in facilitating assessment discussions.  All information should be entered into A.M.S.

As part of program review or new unit establishment, the Assessment Plan will be reviewed by the Co-Curricular and Support Unit Assessment Committee.

Assessment Plans must be reviewed and approved by their respective Assessment Committee.  Use the Transmission Form when proposing a new Assessment Plan or changes to existing plans/processes.

Annual Reporting

All co-curricular programs will report the assessment activities their program completed for the previous academic year by September 30th of each year.  For example, a report due September 30th, 2020 will encompass activities completed during the 2019-2020 Academic Year.

This information will be submitted online through A.M.S.

Co-Curricular and Support Unit Assessment Committee Feedback

The Co-Curricular and Support Unit Assessment Committee (CCSU) will evaluate all of the submitted annual Co-Curricular and Support Unit Assessment Reports and provide peer feedback.  This evaluation is a rubric based and normed/calibrated.

Reporting

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness compiles the submitted Co-Curricular Assessment reports with their respective Co-Curricular and Support Unit Assessment Committee feedback, and develops an overall annual report.  This process includes all co-curricular and support units receiving the committee’s feedback.
