Dunbar Gallery, GSU Dept. of Visual and Performing Arts Senior Exhibition by Joseph Osborne

Exhibition Dates: March 23 – April 9, 2015

From March 23th – April 9th, 2015, the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Grambling State University will host an exhibition by Joseph Osborne, entitled No Heroes Noir: La Barbershop Conscience, in Dunbar Gallery. Osborne, a senior from Shreveport, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual and Performing Arts with a concentration in Studio Art.

Osborne’s sculpture uses layers of plywood, repurposed wood and other materials. Osborne says, “I love using wood especially found or repurposed wood because it comes with an identity already in its grain and shows evidence of its previous use.”

The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception on Tuesday, March 24th 5 – 7:00 PM in Dunbar Gallery.   The gallery located on Hutchinson Street, Grambling State University. Gallery hours are from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, M – TH and 8:30 – 12:00 Noon on Friday. Accommodations are available for large groups and special needs persons.
