Dear Friend of Grambling State University:

As Grambling State University celebrates 110 years of excellence and service in education, it finds it necessary and appropriate to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of the individuals in the communities around Northern Louisiana, the state, and nation who have served as beacons of hope that others follow. The Beacon Award, the University’s expression of recognition and gratitude to those who lead and serve, will be bestowed on a select few individuals who have made a significant difference in the lives of others and their respective communities.  The awards will be given during the Grambling State University Port City Gala on Friday, September 2, 2011. The Gala will take place in the Grand Ballroom of   the Shreveport Convention Center.

We invite you to nominate deserving individuals for this honor, as well as attend what promises to be a grand occasion for the University and the Shreveport/Bossier City communities. Attached are the nomination materials (selection information, criteria for award, and nomination form). We look forward to receiving your nominations by the August 12, 2011 deadline.
