April 17, 2015 – MSW STUDENTS’ CAPSTONE PRESENTATIONS

 

School of Social Work spring 2015 MSW candidates for graduation will present their social work capstone projects on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church (Trinity UMC) in Ruston. Trinity UMC is located at 1000 Woodward Ave. in Ruston.

Registration for the all-day capstone presentations will begin at 8:30 a.m. School of Social Work faculty will preside at the opening plenary at 9:00 a.m. by presenting a sample of their professional papers. Presentations by the students will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will include the following diverse topics:

  • Depression among Women
  • Techniques for Increasing Healthy Communication in Families to Minimize Dysfunction
  • Using Play Therapy Techniques with Vulnerable Children
  • Untangling the Web of Children Diagnosed with ADHD in the Child Welfare System
  • Pre-Marital Counseling: Communication at the Front-End to Reduce Marital Strife
  • Maneuvering the Curves of Substance Abuse to Strengthen Families
  • Family Upheaval and Children At-Risk: Maternal Alcohol and Drug Abuse

Social work professionals from the community are invited to attend and receive CEUs for a fee of $25.00. All presentation topics will be facilitated by School of Social Work faculty.
