MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Student Success Centers are to provide a learning environment that allows students the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve academic success.

OVERVIEW

The Student Success Centers works in collaboration with deans, department heads,  faculty from degree granting colleges and schools, and the student government association to fulfill the Center’s mission. By partnering with the faculty and responding to student needs, the Center provides a supportive learning community that helps students achieve their academic potential.

The Academic Computer labs offers free academic support, such as tutoring/mentoring, study skills seminars, writing labs and math labs to all undergraduate students at Grambling State University. These are programs and activities for students bond and to ease in the transition from high school  to college, who might experience academic difficulties, as well as, those who are already succeeding academically, but simply want to enrich their educational experiences. The Student Success Centers are constantly updated to meet the needs of students.

SERVICES

COMPUTER LABORATORIES
A total of five computer laboratories are available for student use. Each laboratory serves a specific function and has an on-site student monitor. The location of each laboratory is identified below.

  • Writing Lab - Brown Hall, Room 205
  • Black Board Training Lab - Brown Hall, Room 229
  • Mathematics Lab - Brown Hall, Room 209
  • Center for Academic Success - Brown Hall, Room 121
  • English Lab - Brown Hall, Room 202

Hours of Operation:
Monday – Wednesday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday – Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

GROUP STUDY ROOMS
The Academic Skills Center offers group study rooms. These rooms are available on a first-come basis. They may be reserved by contacting Ms. Norton at (318) 274-6225
