General Steps to Receive Financial Assistance

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2021-2022 school year beginning October 1, 2020 to meet the Priority Deadline of March 1, 2021. Complete the FAFSA using 2019 tax information. We recommend using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to automatically upload the tax information.

  2. Once processing for the new year begins, students will receive notifications via email and banner web regarding any necessary documents that need to be submitted in order to process and financial aid award (verification documents, tax return transcripts, w-2’s, etc). A student can view any pending financial aid requirements by:

    1. Logging in to his or her banner web account

    2. Going to Financial Aid

    3. Going to Eligibility

    4. Any document that is needed in order to process a financial aid award will be notated as “pending” on the student’s banner web account.

    5. Once a document is received by our office, it will be notated as “received” on the student’s banner web account under the “eligibility” tab of the financial aid section.

  3. Once all pending documents are submitted, students should allow 3-5 days to receive a financial aid award, if the student is eligible for any assistance.

  4. Students will receive a financial aid award letter notification via banner web and email.

  5. Students can always cancel or reduce any loan offers that have been awarded.
