4 Fun Ways You Can Celebrate GSU During Homecoming Week

Since its founding on November 1, 1901, Grambling State has grown into an internationally renowned producer of African American leaders and a trendsetter for American culture.  

Thanks to legends like Charles P. Adams, Eddie G. Robinson, and Conrad Hutchinson Jr. who laid the foundations of GSU greatness, the last 118 years have been full of landmark achievements. Because of to the vision of our leadership, the innovation of our bright students and loyal support of our alumni, Grambling State continues to champion higher education in Louisiana.  

Here are a few ways that you can celebrate 118 years of HBCU excellence at the place where Everybody is Somebody: 
 

1. Take Selfies with Eddie –  
   Show us your best birthday selfie with Eddie the Tiger using #grambirthday118. Make sure you’re following all the official University social media handles just in case your pic gets reposted!  
2. Give Back at the Radiothon – 
   The Day of Giving, Radiothon, and Grambling State’s 118th birthday all taking place on November 1 – that makes today the perfect time to Bring It Home. Download the State of Grambling annual report to see just how your contributions are impacting students and the future of Grambling State. 
3. Party at the Pep Rally –  
   The traditional Mascot Funeral and all the merriment that follows will start on Main Street at 12 p.m. Friday, November 2. Celebrate our stripes at the pep rally and University birthday festivities immediately following the Homecoming Mascot Funeral. See the full schedule.  
4. Grab Your adidas Apparel –  
   Two of the world’s most recognizable brands in athletics joined forces over a year ago when adidas signed on as the official apparel partner to Grambling State Athletics.
