Safety and Risk Management is a compliance and operations department for Grambling State University. Safety and Risk Management is to ensure that GSU complies with all Louisiana Office of Risk Management (ORM) regulations by implementing safety program, establishing standards, conducting inspections, and addressing concerns.

Grambling State University Department of Safety and Risk Management goal is to ensure the wellbeing of all faculty, staff, and students providing environmental, health, and safety support to maintain environments conducive to learning and conducting daily functions while meeting all levels of governmental compliance and regulations. In addition, our goal is to mitigate risks; identify and evaluate risk to which the GSU Community is exposed and develop efficient ways to manage the finance associated with those risks.

All employees including student workers and work study students, who are required to climb a ladder on any job at Grambling State University, are required to complete the ladder safety trainings linked below. The videos, courses and exams must be completed and passed with a minimum score of 90 per cent before you are eligible to do work on a ladder. Before being authorized by the Department of Safety and Risk Management proof of your completion and passing must be provided by emailing it to safety@gram.edu or bringing it to the Department of Safety and Risk Management, One Facilities Drive, Room A-12.
