Louisiana law requires that all students entering Grambling State University to be immunized for the following: Measles (2 doses), Mumps, Rubella--required for those born on or after January 1, 1957; Tetanus-Diphtheria (within the past 10 years); and against Meningococcal disease (Meningitis-2 doses). You will not be eligible to pay University fees until all immunization records are in compliance or the exemption is signed. If you waive immunizations, you may be required to leave school during a disease outbreak on campus.
Effective August 23, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted full approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for people age 16 and over. Since December of 2020, the Pfizer vaccine has been available through Emergency Use Authorization, and more than 200 million doses have been administered in the U.S. alone.
The University of Louisiana System previously requested that the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), upon full approval by the FDA, add COVID-19 to the schedule of required immunizations for students at Grambling State University and other UL System institutions. LDH granted this request.
As a result of FDA approval, COVID-19 is now on the schedule of required immunizations for college students in Louisiana.
Accordingly, all students are encouraged to be vaccinated for COVID-19 as soon as possible. Documentation of immunization against COVID-19 must be provided prior to November 22, 2021 to register for the spring semester and all terms moving forward. Alternatively, students may provide one of the following:

The student health center is evaluating all entering students for exposure to tuberculosis (TB).
You will not be eligible to pay University fees until all immunization records are in compliance or the exemption is signed. If you waive immunizations, you may be required to leave school during a disease outbreak on campus.
