Mass Communication Degrees and Advising

The Department of Mass Communication offers two degree programs: A Bachelor of Arts degree with concentrations in Broadcasting Journalism, Integrated Communication, Sports Journalism and Public Relations; and a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication. The department was first nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC) in 1993. The accreditation was reaffirmed in 1999, 2005 and 2011.

Important Note: The current Bachelor of Arts curriculum with concentrations in Broadcasting Journalism, Integrated Communication, Sports Journalism and Public Relations (dated October 2019) requires the student to officially declare and complete the requirements for a minor or double major outside of mass communication.
