Professor Evelyn Jenkins is a lecturer and the Coordinator of the Title IV-E Child Welfare Program. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Public Manager (CPM). She joined the GSU faculty in 2015. Ms. Jenkins received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Louisiana Tech University, MSW from Grambling State University, and Master of Public Administration from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She has specialized training in treating childhood trauma and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Post-Disaster Distress.
Ms. Jenkins has over 30 years of experience working in child welfare with 22 years in various management and administrative positions at the state level. She has experience in coaching and professional staff development, conducting organizational cultural assessments, providing international adoption services and providing behavioral health and health care social work services.
She has served on the Louisiana Board of Social Work Examiners and as the Chair of NASW-LA Monroe Region. She teaches Introduction to Social Work, Social Welfare Policy, Child Welfare, and practice courses.
