Educational Agreements, Consortium, & Partnerships

GSU via the Office of Continuing Education & Lifelong Learning (CELL) is engaged in a number of unique educational agreements, consortiums, and partnerships that requires not only institutional representation, but active participation in projects that are mutually beneficial to all parties.  GSU believes that it is vital to be an active participant with peer institutions and other external entities to ensure that faculty, staff and students have ample (and equitable) opportunities to “engage” in unique external ventures.  Organizations who desire to Partner with GSU on efforts of mutual interest are encouraged to contact the Office of Continuing Education & Lifelong Learning by calling 318.274.6141 or by email at gsucellinfo@gram.edu.

Consortium for Education, Research & Technology (CERT) of North Louisiana

Formed initially to provide resource training/development to business and industry in Northwest (Bossier City/Shreveport) LA, CERT (www.certla.org) has expanded to include parishes throughout North Louisiana.  Meetings are held on a quarterly basis and are hosted by the President of the Consortium.  Collaborative in nature, CERT activities and projects afford faculty/staff from each of the Member Institutions to engage in projects geared toward enhancing the quality of life of clients being served.

Defense Acquisition University

The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) and Grambling State University established a strategic partnership agreement in order to provide educational opportunities for Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L) workforce personnel. Under this partnership agreement, Grambling State University will allow members of the DoD AT&L workforce to transfer DAU courses toward Grambling State University undergraduate and graduate degrees. The partnership centers on DAU course work that Grambling State University will allow members of the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L) workforce to transfer towards Grambling State University bachelor and master degrees.

This educational partnership with DAU-South (www.dau.com)–located in Huntsville (AL)—was designed to provide credit/non-credit training for approximately 125,000 military personnel transitioning back into the civilian workforce For more information, please review the strategic partnership agreement, then visit the Grambling State University website https://www.gram.edu/DAU/index.htm then contact the Grambling State University Coordinator to find out toward which Grambling State University degrees the following DAU courses may be transferred.

Delta Citizens Alliance (DCA)

The Delta Citizens Alliance (DCA) is a tri-state (AR, LA, & MS) non-profit organization formed to improve (and enhance) the quality of life for citizens residing in the rural 55-county/parish area defined initially by the U.S. Department of Labor as the Mississippi Delta Region.  With Headquarter Office in Greenville (MS), DCA (www.deltacitizens.org) conducts an annual tri-state conference on a rotating basis.  DCA also conducts annual membership meetings hosted by each of the State Caucuses. 

Edgenics, Inc.

GSU serves as an Educational Partner with Edgenics, Inc. (www.edgenics.com).  With assistance from an $11.2 million dollar loan/grant from USDA to develop Phase I of a regional project, GSU along with other postsecondary institutions became an Education Partner via a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to engage in an initiative designed to develop online professional development courses to uncertified teachers covering the entire Mid-South Delta Region.  Since the inception of this Partnership, Edgenics has launched several external initiatives inclusive of the Edgenics-Digital Journalism Project (E-DJP) along with an emerging eHealthcare Curriculum Project.

Greater North Louisiana Community Development Corporation (GNLCDC)

GSU serves as an Educational Partner with the Greater North Louisiana Community Development Corporation, Inc. (GNLCDC).  This partnership via a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is designed to insert here

JOY I.M.P.A.C.T.

GSU via a MOU serves as an Educational Partner with a faith-based organization identified as JOY I.M.P.A.C.T. located in Jonesboro (LA).  A 501 c 3 non-profit organization, JOY I.M.P.A.C.T. (www.joyimpact.org) has as its overall goal the insert here…

Mississippi Delta Grassroots Caucus (MDGC)

GSU is a Member Institution and Partner with the Mississippi Delta Grassroots Caucus (MDGC); a non-partisan body formed to secure additional resources to the eight (8)-state 256-county/parish coverage area of the Delta Regional Authority (DRA).  The coverage area extends from rural Southern Illinois to New Orleans eastward over to the Rust Belt of Alabama.   There are approximately 46 parishes throughout Louisiana--inclusive of North Central LA—that are included in the coverage area of the DRA (www.dra.gov).  MDGC (www.mdgc.us) conducts an annual conference each spring in Little Rock (AR) and spearheads the Annual Washington (DC) Initiative in the fall.

Membership is open to community-/faith-based organizations, individuals, key stakeholders, postsecondary institutions, and/or anyone with a desire to improve the quality of life for those residing throughout the Mid-South Delta Region.
