Theatre Arts
Dr. King David Godwin is a native of Lake City, South Carolina. He received his B.A.
undergraduate degree in Speech and Theatre Education from South Carolina State University
and the Master of Arts degree (specialization in Secondary Education and Theatre)
from Bowie State University, the Ph. D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction with
a cognate emphasis in Theatre Arts and the Ed. D. in Education Administration and
Leadership, from Virginia Tech University and State University. Dr. Godwin served
at Grambling State University as Chair of the Department of Visual and Performance
Arts and as the Dean of Arts and Sciences prior to retiring in 2017. Dr. Godwin recently
was appointed by the Registry Organization and the University of Maine at Fort Kent
as Dean of Arts and Sciences before returning home to Grambling State University.
