The Office of Professional Laboratory Experiences promotes the integrity and quality of the Teacher Education Program by working diligently to establish positive working relationships with all of the various publics that are impacted by the Field Experiences Program. Collaboration, effective communication and program outcomes as stated in the conceptual framework are keys to developing, maintaining, and evaluating success of this program.
The Office of Professional Laboratory Experiences facilitates field experiences that provide students opportunities for practical application of knowledge, skills, and dispositions gained in achieving objectives of the three strands of the conceptual framework: subject matter scholars, facilitators of learning, and enhancers of and nurturers of affective behaviors. These experiences include observation, planning, presentation, assessment, and evaluation within the pre-service teaching experience. At all levels of field experiences, students develop a repertoire of professional skills and competencies that prepare them to become outstanding educators who are subject matter scholars, facilitators of learning, and enhancers and nurturers of affective behaviors.
