Alumni Resources

Alumni Welcome

Greetings! On behalf of the Grambling Nursing Alumni, welcome to the "Student Resources" website! We are very excited to unveil this resource to you. Let me first begin by introducing myself and the committee. My name is Star, a 2010 BSN graduate of Grambling and current doctoral student at the University of Iowa.  Our full committee for this project includes, Ms. Staja “Star” Booker, RN, MS, BSN (’10); Mr. Cory Woods, RN, MSN, MHA, BSN (’10); Mrs. Vickie Anderson, RN, MSN, BSN; Mrs. LaTeryl Coleman, RN, BSN (’09), CMSRN; Mrs. Raechelle Minifield, RN, BSN (’10).  This committee is experienced in a range of nursing specialties including long-term care, medical-surgical, home health, nursing education, gerontology/geriatrics, and critical care.

Some while ago, Dean Potter approached me with an appeal to engage nursing alumni in assisting upper level nursing students prepare for NCLEX.  It was decided that a dedicated, interactive website would be an invaluable resource.  What you will find on this webpage is a product of the nursing alumni's labor of love.  Specifically, the Student Resources webpage provides a range of resources that will assist in your preparation for NCLEX success and transition from student nurse to registered nurse.  The 2013 NCLEX test plan is the hardest test plan to date, and while NCLEX only tests for minimum competency, we want you to be sufficiently prepared for whatever NCLEX throws at you.  Remember, you can pass on the first time—I did, with 75 questions!

Take some time to become acquainted with this repository of resources.  We pray you find this website helpful, but this will only be beneficial if you take full advantage.  Feel free to contact any of the alums through the Tiger Chat Q&A webpage with questions, suggestions, or concerns.  We pray for your success in nursing school and beyond!
